Pitching in the 1996 World Series and winning the Series MVP Award was a thrilling experience, but the most exciting event in my life was when I trusted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. That happened in February of 1990, my second year in the major leagues. Recognizing that God loves me and paid the price for my sins by sending Jesus to die on the cross is an awesome thing. None of us is perfect, we all sin and fall short of perfection in God's sight. That's why Jesus came and died. There is no decision you will ever make that is more important than where you will spend eternity. You need to personally accept Jesus as your Savior, trusting only in His payment on the cross and not counting on your own good deeds. Believe me, the peace and fulfillment that comes from Christ is greater than any ball game or award. Trust Him today for your salvation.

Favorite Bible verse: Romans 5:1-2
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand."
