As an NFL coach, I am always looking for players who are disciplined, committed, and willing to make necessary sacrifices to be successful. There is no substitute for fundamentals. They must be stressed and practiced on a daily basis.

I have found this true in football as well as in my Christian life. I was fortunate enough too have been adopted into a Christian home and taught at an early age the fundamentals needed to follow Christ. I learned to start each day in prayer and in God's Word. I learned the importance of being active in church and surrounded myself with great Christian friends. I was also taught to avoid bad situations and people who might compromise my commitment to Christ.
Trials and tough times are an inevitable part of football and life. I have clung to the fundamentals I've shared and God's faithfulness to see me through. It hasn't always been easy, but this combination has never failed. God has been my rock and my salvation--in Him will I trust.
